Great win tonight to equal our best ever premier league score. The game started with a terrible tackle on Scott McTominay which resulted in an early red card for Southampton player Alex Jankewit. Both full backs had great games with attacking movement and started the goal scoring with an assist by Shaw for a Wan-Bissaka goal. Greenwood showed unselfishness on the second goal with an assist for Rashwood. Southampton put the ball in the back of their own net for the third and that followed by another goal from Cavani who continues to add to his Man United tally.
Starting the second half Cavani was replaced by Martial and Shaw was replaced by Van De Beek, followed by James on for Rashford a little later. The second half continued pretty much the same as the first with a fifth goal by Martial and a super low driven shot from outside by the box by McTominay to make it 6. To add insult to injury Southampton recieved a second red card with the sending off of Jan Bednarek. Bruno confidently smashed home another penalty kick to make it 7. The last few minutes saw Martial get a second and James tap in the last goal of the game to make the final score 9 – 0. Altogether a great result and a well earned 3 points.
In my opinion any Man United player could get our man of the match but I would give it to Luke Shaw.
