The match didn’t get off to a good start when another defensive error led to West Brom striker Mbaye Diagne finding the back of the net with a headed shot within the first 2 minutes. United continued to attack throughout the first half with little effect. The equaliser finally came just before the end of the first half when a cross by Luke Shaw found Bruno Fernandes who’s volley hit the top corner from inside the box.
The second half started off well with Man United pressing forward. 13 minutes in saw Harry Maguire go down in the box which looked like a clear penalty. Unfortunately after the referee was called to VAR, this was not given. Shortly after we saw the first substitution of the game with Martial given up for Mason Greenwood. Shortly after the second substitution of the match saw Donny Van De Beek introduced to replace Fred. Although towards the end of the match Man United looked more and more likely to get winner the match finished in a draw.
Altogether a disappointing result today which means we took only 2 points from our last 2 league games. After criticism of late David De Gea put in a good performance today and would have earned my man of the match.
