Man United 0 Real Sociedad 0

The starting line up gave an interesting change in central defence where Ole decided to start Victor Lindelof with Eric Bailly and rest Harry Maguire. The first incident of the match saw Daniel James give away a penalty twelve minutes in. Fortunately for Manchester United, Real Sociedad Forward Mikel Oyarzabal put it wide of Dean Henderson’s goal. Ten minutes later we saw Fred burst into the box and play the ball back to Bruno Fernandes who’s shot was pushed onto the crossbar by the Real Sociedad goalkeeper. The thirty forth minute was the best goal attempt of the first half when Bruno Fernandes‘s pinpoint pass found the head of Daniel James who’s heading shot just couldn’t get enough power to find the back of the Real Sociedad net.

The second half saw Man United make three substitutions. Aaron Wan-Bissaka was replaced by Brandon Williams, Fred was replaced by Axel Tuanzebe and surprisingly instead of resting Marcus Rashford, he was brought on to replace Bruno Fernandes. The fifty ninth minute then saw Amad Diallo getting more play time when he came on to replace Daniel James. Three minutes later, we thought we had the first goal of the game when an Axel Tuanzebe found the back of the net but was ruled out due to a foul by Victor Lindelof.

Altogether a pretty uneventful match tonight but a match that will see us through to the round of 16 in the Europa League. A good performance from the team as a whole but I would give my man of the match to Eric Bailly.
