The starting line up saw Anthony Martial being dropped in favour of Mason Greenwood. Daniel James was given the nod again being selected to play off the right wing. The first notable incident of the match was a possible penalty decision fifteen minutes in when a Marcus Rashford freekick rebounded and struck the arm of Hudson-Odoi, After a review of VAR, what looked to be a definite penalty was not given by the referee. A very evenly matched first half finished nil all.
The second half started with only one change to either team when Reece James came on to replace Callum Hudson-Odoi. The second substitution of the match also came from the Chelsea bench when Christian Pulisic came on to replace Oliver Giroud. The only Man United substitution came in the seventy eight minute when Anthony Martial came on to replace Mason Greenwood. Although the second half was more exciting than the first, the match finished nil all.
With Leicester losing today and Liverpool already nine points behind, it would have been nice to take the three points by beating our rivals Chelsea. Unfortunately even though many players put in a shift for us today, there was a lack of creativity on the pitch in what was another draw against a top six club. Having made some good saves during the course of the match I would give my man of the match to David De Gea.
