The first twenty minutes of the match looked very evenly matched. The first big chance of the game came in the twenty forth minute when Mason Greenwood crossed the ball towards the back post which found the head of Marcus Rashford who was unable to hit the back of the net on this occasion. The second big chance of the game came in the thirty sixth minute when a quick pass from Fred found Bruno Fernandes who in turn played another quick ball to Mason Greenwood who’s shot was tipped onto the side post from the West Ham goalkeeper. The first half finished with no goals from either side.
The second half started with no substitutions. We saw the first goal of the match in the fifty third minute when a Bruno Fernandes corner found, what looked like the head of Scott McTominay, who put it in the back of the net. After watching the replay it was actually an own goal by West Ham Defender Craig Dawson. The sixtieth minute saw Man United nearly make it two on the score board when a Bruno Fernandes shot from outside the box was narrowly saved by the West Ham Goalkeeper. The seventy seventh minute saw another big chance for Man United with Mason Greenwood striking the post after a superb dribble from the half way line. The match finished one nil to Man United with the only substitutions of the match coming from the West Ham bench.
A good win tonight with the three points hopefully sealing our top four finish and champions league football next year. I would give my man of the match tonight to Mason Greenwood who was our stand out performer in the first half.
