Man United started off the game on the front foot with two good crosses into the Milan box early on. The majority of the first half was uneventful in terms of shots on target with both teams looking very evenly matched. The best chance of the first half fell just before half time to AC Milan when Calhanoglu crossed the ball into the box from the right wing but unable to be converted by Rade Krunic. The first half finished nil all on the night, as it stood AC Milan would go through on having got the away goal in Old Trafford in the first leg.
The second half saw Paul Pogba return from injury to replace Marcus Rashford. Mason Greenwood moved into the centre forward position and Paul Pogba was deployed on the left wing. Minutes after coming on we saw the ball bobbling around the Milan box and eventually fall to Paul Pogba who calmly stuck the ball into the top of the Milan net. The sixty fifth minute saw two substitutions from AC Milan when ex Man United player Zlatan Ibrahimovic came on to replace Samu Castillejo and current Man United player Diogo Dalot came on to replace Pierre Kalulu. AC Milan also brought Brahim Diaz on to replace Rade Krunic in the seventy second minute. The seventy third minute saw Dean Henderson produce a fantastic save to deny a header from Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The match finished one nil on the night to Man United.
A great win tonight which will see Man United go through to the next round of the Europa League. Although only playing half the match, I would give my man of the match to Paul Pogba for not only getting the goal, but the impact on the players around him when he came on.
