Leicester City 3 Man United 1
The most notable change to the starting line up was Donny Van De Beek coming in to replace Bruno Fernandes, We also saw Paul Pogba in the starting line up after returning from injury. The first goal today at the King Power Stadium was from the home team when Kelechi Iheanacho pounced on a pass from Harry Maguire to Fred and shot managing to find the back of the Man United net. Man United were able to equalise in the thirty seventh minute when a Paul Pogba cross was let run by Donny Van De Beek into the path of Mason Greenwood who’s shot hit the back of the Leicester City net. The first half finished one all. At half time we saw the draw for the FA Cup semi final which matched Man City against Chelsea, which would mean the winner of todays match would face off against Southampton.
Leicester City went ahead once again in the forty second minute when a Youri Tielemans shot found the back of the Man United net. The sixty forth minute saw the first substitutions of the match and four from the Man United bench. Bruno Fernandes came on to replace Namanja Matic, Scott McTominay came on to replace Paul Pogba, Edinson Canvani came on to replace Donny Van De Beek and finally Luke Shaw came on to replace Alex Telles. Shortly after we saw Leicester make their first substitution when Dennis Praet replaced Ayoze Perez. Unfortunately five minutes later Leicester sealed the win when Kelechi Iheanacho found the net for a second time on the night and put Leicester City through to the semi final of the FA Cup. The eighty third minute saw Leicester replace Jamie Vardy with Hamza Choudhury and the eighty fifth minute we got another chance to see Amad Diallo in a united shirt when he replaced Fred.
A disappointing result today which now leaves us unable to stop Man City winning a quadruple and, disregarding the Premier League, the Europa League is are only chance of winning silverware this season. I would have to give my man of the match tonight to Mason Greenwood for getting our only goal despite a lot of disappointing performances.
