Man United 2 Brighton 1

The most notable change to the starting line up was Dean Henderson starting in place of our usual premier league goalkeeper David De Dea. We saw an early goal in the twelfth minute when Ex Man United striker Danny Welbeck’s headed shot found the back of the Man United net. Man United showed themselves to be struggling defending crosses when in the eighteenth minute Brighton defender Lewis Dunk hit the Man United cross bar with another headed shot. The rest of the first half played out with Brighton looking the better team and the first half finished one nil to Brighton.

The first fifteen minutes of the second half were uneventful but the sixty second minute we saw a Bruno Fernandes pass find Marcus Rashford who shot first time to find the back of the Brighton net and equalise for Man United. The seventieth minute we saw what looked like Harry Maguire foul Danny Welbeck inside the Man United box but after review by VAR was not given. Shortly after we saw the first Man United substitution of the match when Dan James came on to replace Marcus Rashford. The eighty first minute we saw the second Man United substitution when Donny Van de Beek came on to replace Edinson Cavani. Two minutes later we saw Mason Greenwood capitalise on a miss hit Paul Pogba shot and head the ball into the back of the Brighton net to put Man United in the lead. Shortly after we saw the last Man United substitution of the match when Scott McTominay came on to replace Paul Pogba.

Altogether it was not a pretty win today for Man United but a valuable three points all the same as we approach the final few games of the season. I would give my man of the match to Mason Greenwood.
