The match started with some changes to the usual starting line up. Axel Tuanzebe started in center back along with Victor Lindelof. Alex Telles started at the left back position and Namanja Matic started in midfield alongside Fred. Man United got off to a good start at Old Trafford by taking the lead in the fifth minute. Alex Telles‘s cross found the head of Paul Pogba who flicked the ball back to Edinson Cavani who’s volleyed shot found the back of the Granada net. The first half played out with not many incidents to note apart from todays captain Paul Pogba receiving a yellow card in the seventeenth minute. The first half finished one nil to Man United.
The second half started with Donny Van De Beek coming on to replace Paul Pogba. Bruno Fernandes also took the captains armband. The fifty ninth minute saw the second substitution of the match from the Man United bench with Dan James coming on to replace Edinson Cavani. The third substitution came in the seventy second minute with Juan Mata replacing Bruno Fernandes. The eighty third minute saw Ole use the last of the five substitutions with Brandon Williams replacing Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Mason Greenwood being replaced by Amad Diallo. Man United got another moment of good luck in the ninety first minute when an Alex Telles cross found the head of Granada defender Jesus Vellejo who put it in his own net and the match finished two nil to Man United on the night.
A good win tonight for Man United which seals our place against Roma in the semi final of the Europa League. It also gave some much needed rest to some key players. Although overall an easy win and not any stand out performances, I would give my man of the match to Axel Tuanzebe.
