Man Utd duo Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire played a pivotal role in England’s 2-0 victory against Germany.
Luke Shaw provided the instrumental assist to Raheem Sterling to put England up 1-0. Harry Maguire and Shaw were also solid in defense, England have not given up a goal at Euro 2020.
Germany and England mirrored each other tactically and played to a stalemate until Jack Grealish released Luke Shaw down the left side in the 75th minute, his low cross was slotted in by Sterling.
England still had to see out the game and were let off the hook after Thomas Muller’s one on one with Pickford was sent wide.
Luke Shaw again played a key role in the second goal. Shaw ripped the ball off the Germans and played in Grealish who found Harry Kane.
Harry Maguire has looked well since being out for the last six weeks or so. Maguire partnered well with Stones and worked well with his Man Utd teammate Luke Shaw on the left side of defense.
England will now face the winner of Ukraine or Sweden and have an easy path to the final.
