Man Utd and Liverpool Reignite their Fierce Rivarly Tommorrow

Man Utd will host rivals Liverpool tomorrow in the Premier League. It is a must win for Liverpool as they try and keep up with the teams around them that are vying for the last Champions League spot.

Man Utd sit comfortably in second place and will clinch Champions League soon. If Liverpool defeat Man Utd than Man City will clinch the title. Lose to your rivals and your other biggest rival wins the league, odd situation for Man Utd.

One could conclude that this derby could be a fascinating one with everything on the line, but last time Liverpool and Man Utd played the game finished 0-0.

Looking at the Leeds game last weekend, it had the makings of a great game, however it finished 0-0. Liverpool need to win and Man Utd are coming off one of their best performances this season, the game could become open sooner rather than later or they both play it safe.

Disappointing is a nice one word answer to describe Liverpool this season. High off winning their first league title in decades, Liverpool got hit hard with the injury bug and have had inconsistencies from key players.

Even Jurgen Klopp has seemed on edge, especially when he speaks to the media. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a lot more composed and tactical when he speaks to the press.

Some could admire Klopp’s passion but his passion creates these moments of frustration and exacerbates the problems that Liverpool are having and then you blindside your club with the European Super League, the situation looks tense from an outside perspective.

Liverpool have dropped points the last two league games, two 1-1 draws against Leeds and Newcastle, with both goals coming late in the game. The draws mean that Liverpool languish in sixth place.

Sixth placed Liverpool are currently four points behind Chelsea who are fourth and hold the final Champions League spot and two points behind fifth placed West Ham. Chelsea face Fulham on Saturday and could be seven points clear of Liverpool by Sunday.

Mohamed Salah leads the team in scoring with 20 league goals. Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota are next with eight each. Salah has been rumored to leave Liverpool, but who knows.

Mane has been inconsistent this season and Jota has been hurt after impressing early in the season. Club captain Jordan Henderson going down was also a massive blow.

Defensively Liverpool has suffered the most with injuries this season after losing Virgil Van Dijk early in the season, Joe Gomes and Joel Matip have both gone down as well. Last game they started Ozan Kabak and Fabinho as their starting center backs.

Fabinho is better suited as a six and sitting in front of the two central defenders but he has done well and is capable of playing a sweeper. Kabak still needs time to analyze his performances. Allison the goal keeper has also has a mistake in him this season.

A draw or a defeat for Liverpool will see them probably drop out of the race for fourth.

Man Utd Team News

Man Utd were sensational a couple of nights ago against Roma and looked to have sealed the time against the Romans, four goals will be a tough ask for any team.

There could be smart rotations after that extremely high energy game that Man Utd took part in, they ran all night against Roma. Not only was it one of the better performances all season, it was one of Man Utd’s highest paced games all season.

Man Utd could be a little leggy still, maybe we will see Mason Greenwood start, Daniel James, Eric Bailly or even Donny van de Beek.

Not being defeated could take precedent over a must win, the position that Man Utd are in is extremely comfortable and finishing the season healthy with a chance to win a trophy could be more important than winning a derby game, doing both would be ideal.

Man Utd look healthier and healthier as we come to an end of the season. The condensed schedule has eased up a bit and Man Utd are an obvious benefactor of having a little extra rest. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke on the fitness during his press conference.

Big game regardless of the situation, a win would leave the fans happy to not see a rival clinch the title on your behalf and boosts spirits before an upcoming European final.

Manchester United and Liverpool To Have Summer Transfer War Over These Three Players

The two Premier League sides continue to be linked with the same players recently. Ben White, Nikola Milenkovic and now Raphinha will likely be the subjects of a transfer war between the two rivals.

The rivalry spilling over to transfer market does not come as much of a surprise, both clubs have dealt with injuries or need to strengthen similar positions. The players listed also do not come with as steep of an asking price, compared to other players linked with the clubs. A bidding war could force the clubs to over pay for one of the players.

It was reported by Sportitalia Journalist Gianluigi Longari that Raphinha could be targeted by both clubs, like all the players listed, multiple teams will be inquiring about the prospect of acquiring them.

Raphinha has five goals and assists in seventeen games this season. Leeds are 5th in the league in scoring this season and Raphinha has transitioned well from Rennes and statistically has surpassed what he did in his best Ligue 1 campaign.

Raphinha plays primarily at right wing but could play on the left as well. Leeds bought the Brazilian for €20 million but could double their money in one year. €40 million could be seen as pricey but it is almost €60 million less than what Borussia Dortmund is commanding for Jadon Sancho. Jack Grealish is also a pricier option and does not seem interested in leaving Aston Villa despite constant speculation of him doing so.

The right wing/midfield position is a position that could use competition after Edison Cavani became the number 9 when fit, the hybrid forwards like Anthony Martial, Daniel James and Mason Greenwood have had some ups and downs playing in that position with Martial and Greenwood looking better centrally.

Ben White and Nikola Milenkovic

Both defenders are linked with United and Liverpool with Milenkovic being more recently. Ben White has had speculation surrounding him since last summer and in the winter tranter window.

Liverpool is in desperate need of a center back after being obliterated at the position with injuries. All of their top center back choices are injured or were injured at some point. United on the other hand need a central defender for competition purposes some suggest another central defender could help United push for a title.

Ben White was highly targeted this summer after a stellar season in the Championship helping Leeds get promoted and win the league. White has played 24 matches this season for Brighton and plays for a defense that is on par with United in terms of goals conceded this season at 32.

If White joins the team United could feature an all English backline and even all English defense if Dean Henderson is keeper next season. It would be interesting if they all played for England in the same team. It is not likely but is possible, Luke Shaw is having one of his best seasons in his career and arguably the best left back in the league.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is one of the best one-on-one defenders in the world and with Trent Alexander-Arnold struggling this season, Wan-Bissaka could be the first choice right back during the March friendlies. Harry Maguire is the captain of both sides and Henderson was outplaying Jordan Pickford last season.

White might be best suited at United for chemistry, to be able to play with the same players all year does not happen often. The success of countries like Germany could be contributed to that. Jerome Boateng, Joshua Kimmich, Mats Hummels and Manuel Neurer have played for Germany and Bayern at the same time with great success.

Nikola Milenkovic reportedly would only cost €30 million, not that bad, if United were to get all three it would be similar in price to the Sancho ransom. Fiorentina are not having a good season, they are currently sitting 14th and look way off the pace of Europe to mount a challenge and finished 10th and 16th the last two seasons.

Milenkovic has started 21 games this season for Fiorentina and is 5th in clearances and 6th in tackles for defenders in the league. Last season he added five goals, a decent return for a defender

United could be in a good situation next season if they were able to bolster their squad with any of the mentioned players creating an extremely competitive squad.
