Why Charlie McNeil is grabbing headlines?
On Saturday, U18 forward Charlie McNeil scored four goals against his former side and
Manchester rival Manchester City in a 4-2 win. This season Charlie McNeil has scored 12 goals in 11 matches for the youth side. McNeil’s goals and celebrations have United fans salivating over another forward possibly joining the likes of Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood to be called up to the first team in recent years.

It is reported that McNeil scored 600 goals in the City youth academy. Despite his impressive goals tally McNeil found his opportunities with City’s U18 side limited. This summer united signed McNeil for around €750,00 with the potential of rising to €1.35 million. McNeil’s first goal was a header off a corner, his second a rebound off his own missed penalty, third was a fair play goal, and his last goal came in stoppage time after he stole the ball off a City defender.
