United Should Track These 8 Promising Players In The RB System

RB Leipzig

United Interim Manager Ralf Rangnick has had a long and solid career managing in Germany. Lokomativ Moscow was his most recent employer, prior to that he spent a lot of time in the Red Bull set up.

From 2012-219, Rangnick served in the Red Bull system, starting as director of football in 2012 and later managed RB Leipzig in the 2015-2016 and 2018-2019 seasons. A lot of talent has come in and out of the Red Bull system the last few seasons.

He must be aware of some of the current talent in the system obviously and have connections still in that system.

It seems that Bayern Munich have also exploited that connection with Julian Nagglesman, an ex-manager at Leipzig. They have signed Dayot Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer, two terrific talents in recent windows.

Those connections could yield United some terrific talent.

8 is a decent sized list, but there is a lot of talent in the system and three teams: Leipzig, Salzburg and New York.

Christopher Nkunku

Nkuku has to be the first player listed. There are plenty of good talents, that will be discussed later but none that look more promising right now than Nkunku.

The French attacking midfielder is currently going through his best form of his career and is easily the best outfield player at Leipzig at the moment. Nkunku has the 13 goals and 6 assists in 19 matches, all competitions.

Nkunku has yet to be called into the French national team. The recently turned 24-year-old plays in a loaded French position, attacking midfielder. Also, like United, attacking midfielder is not a need at the moment.

Nkunku currently is value at around โ‚ฌ47mil. A fantastic talent that looks like he will continue to get better. Probably not a fit for United at the moment, but could be playing against United in the Premier League one day.

Nordi Mukiele

Mukiele could be one of the most realistic players on this list that could start for Manchester United right now, slide in the lineup. That has more to do with the recent run of form of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Wan-Bissaska is a great defender. Recently he has had made some big mistakes and there is a consensus that he does not add much going forward, he could be on his way out if he does not grow into Rangnick’s side. I do think Wan-Bissaka could, it is hard to give up on a player that cost so much also.

But, if Mukiele was on the bench, he would get a shot. Even, Alex Telles is getting a shot at left back while Luke Shaw deals with injuries and poor form.

Mukiele has started the last few seasons at RWB/RB for Leipzig. The 24-year-old’s recent form has seen him called up by France. This season, Leipzig have played four at the back, with Mukiele being a more traditional right back, but Leipzig switches it up.

Mukiele likes to get forward and in 84 league appearances he has 8 goals and 6 assists. Decent for a full back, not spectacular. Nordi is a good defender and might not be far away from Wan-Bissaka in that respect, but makes up for it by being better going forward.

Nordi Mukiele is valued at โ‚ฌ27.5mil according to Transfermarkt. United could sell Dalot and fund the rest to buy Mukiele.

United need competition for Wan-Bissaka.

Dominik Szoboszlai

The Hungarian Prince. It is unfortunate that Szoboszlai plays in a stacked position at United. Bruno, Jesse Lingard, Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek play and could play the 10.

A good amount of players on this list play in that position, but Szoboszlai is young and United could be losing Lingard on a free soon, there could be some space for a younger player.

Szoboszlai could make the bench of any top club in Europe probably and develop into a starter for most. At only 21-years-old the Hungarian is turning heads in the Red Bull system and in Europe.

The Hungarians had a good summer at the Euros, despite Szoboszlai not being pivotal to their success in the summer, he had a decent tournament.

At Leipzig he has fit in well. This season he has 3 goals and assists in 12 league games. A couple of cup goals and a penalty in the Champions League with Neymar in his ear, rounds out his goal contributions for the season so far.

Karim Adayemi

Salzburg have had a great success rate at producing solid forwards lately with the gem being Erling Halaand. Patson Daka and Hwang Hee-chan are playing well for their Premier League Clubs lately.

Adayemi was in the shadows of some of those guys the last couple of seasons, mainly because he is only 19-years-old, but turns 20 at the beginning of the year.

The 20-21 campaign the forward scored 7 goals in 29 games, not bad for being so young and Daka being the main striker. This season he has hit the ground running with 11 goals in 15 matches in the Austrian Bundesliga and 4 goals in 7 Champions League matches.

His form has caught the eye of the German national team. Adayemi netted a goal on his international debut in September against Armenia.

The youngster is from Munich and would likely choose the Bavarians in the long run and they might get a nice deal for that past business with the system. United have a lot of good young talent at forward, but if the price is right for United, you can never have enough talented forwards.

Luka Sucic

The 19-year-old has a nasty left foot. For being as tall as he is (6ft 1in), he has great control with the ball at his feet similar to a Szobalzai, likely a similar career path as the Hungarian.

The Croatian international, one cap, has been turning some heads and rumors are already popping up of teams interested. It is very likely he goes to Leipzig, especially if someone calls knocking for the Hungarian Prince.

AC Milan are interested in the young talent. Still too early to tell, but if he keeps getting games in Salzburg and in Europe, more teams will begin to circle.

United have Bruno Fernandes as an attacking midfielder and if Bruno gets dropped it is not going to be for another attacking midfielder. Plus, Jadon Sancho and even Donny van de Beek can play the 10. Sucic is one to keep an eye on.

The Americans

The American market is getting bigger. Christian Pulisic to Chelsea, Weston Mckennie Juventus and Sergino Dest Barcelona are three of the biggest transfer moves by Americans in football history. Clubs see the opportunity of cashing in on American players.

Those seeds have been planted for awhile with some clubs. Bayern Munich has great relations with FC Dallas. Mckennie came through the FC Dallas academy. Red Bull sporting group has been invested in New York for awhile and a couple of decent players have been produced.

NBC Sports just recently signed a deal with the Premier League to extend their coverage of the league in a deal worth around โ‚ฌ2 billion the next 6 years. United could cash in on more on that market.

United have not had an American since Tim Howard.

Tyler Adams

Adams was linked to Arsenal in the summer. Adams plays a RWB/CDM role at Leipzig. In the system he can move to RWB and then transition to CDM depending on the instructions. Similar to things Mykel Arteta likes to do at Arsenal.

Adams is flexible and has done that for a couple of matches with the USMNT under Greg Berhalter. With the USMNT you will see him primarily operate as the 6, shielding the two center backs. The RB role in the USMNT is deep, so he might not be used like that with them going forward, unless an emergency.

United need a 6. Someone who could shield the defense and get the ball out of his feet quick to start counters. Adams is the only American on this list with a serious shot of playing for United because of the need at that position.

Caden Clark

The young American burst onto the scenes in MLS in his debut season, in America rookie season. His season started of hot with a couple of goals.

An appendicitis put him for a bit during the season. His season was ultimately good enough for Leipzig to come calling. American coach Jesse Marsch will get a look at him soon. The season ended recently for NYRB, Clark should be in Germany.

The soon to be 19-year-old has a lot of work to do yet. The attacking midfielder will have to fight for playing time against a lot of talented players at Leipzig in a similar position.

Brenden Aaronson

Aaronson is not at Leipzig like Clark or Adams, but could be soon after a good year at Salzburg and decent performances for the USMNT has the stock of the 21-year-old from New Jersey rising.

Since breaking out for Salzburg and the USMNT in the least year, Aaronson has 34 league appearances with 6 goals and 8 assists. 7 Champions League appearances with 2 goals. In World Cup qualifiers he has 2 goals and appearing in all matches for the USMNT.

Aaronson is fast, really fast. Majority of the time he plays on the left, but can play in the middle also. High work rate offensively and defensively. Not always the focal point in attack, but finds away to insert himself into the game.

Similar to Dan James, but a better crosser and a slightly more precise finisher. At the least he gets his shot on target, but has squandered good opportunities like most players.

Honorable Mentions

Josko Gvaridol, Angelino, Brian Bobbery, Dani Olmo and Noah Okafor.

Manchester United Legend Returning At The Perfect Time

Manchester United have completed the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo according to the club. Ronaldo left the club in 2009 to join Real Madrid and returns to Old Trafford after a small transfer battle with rivals Manchester City.

Ronaldo has scored over 600 goals in his entire career. Ronaldo spent the last three season at Juventus and has a brevity of awards and trophies in his cabinet.

Ronaldo returning comes at an interesting time for United. United could compete for a title and need someone more consistent at the number 9 position.

Consistency has been lacking at the position since United had the likes of Berbatov, Rooney, Van Persie, Tevez and even Zlatan. It has been a few seasons without a consistent striker.

Ronaldo began his career at United as a left winger looking to run at defenders. Now, he operates mainly in the center and still utilizes his athleticism to great success with outrageous leaping headers.

Manchester United Strike Force

This is a little more opinionated, warning. I think United need to hold possession and play with a classical number 9. I think Mason Greenwood could be that guy, is he there yet if he is only scoring 10 goals? No, but he is extremely promising.

Greenwood has shined early this season, scoring a goal in each game and he finished last season off well. In a press conference in 2019, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said of Greenwood, “natural finishing, he is one of the best I have seen.” High praise from a striker who also played with and around great strikers.

If Greenwood wants to be that guy, he needs at least 20 goals in the league. You have to get goals if you want to be the main striker. During the Leeds game he was that guy and played more centrally, In the poor performance against Southampton he was pushed wider and had to share the middle with Anthony Martial.

There have been some rumors of bids coming in for Martial. If I was a team wanting to buy Martial, I would wait to the deadline and cut โ‚ฌ10-15mil off of Martial’s value. The only buyers in the French league seem to be PSG, who are not bringing in Martial.

Maybe a team in Spain or Italy could come in later for a bid. There was rumors of Atalanta if Duvan Zapata gets sold, it was hot air mostly and a couple of weeks ago the club will not allow him to leave this summer according to Sky Sports.

Not surprising with the injury of Marcus Rashford, the frequent injuries of Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood still being young that United have not moved on from Martial.

I do not think Martial is a classical number 9. He does not always hold up the ball well, his headers could be better and his turn and shot skills are lacking lately. Martial had some great moments as a Red Devil, but lately things have not been kind to the Frenchman.

Martial scored 17 league goals in 2019, only four last season, injuries hampered him a lot last campaign. Edinson Cavani has pushed Martial out of the center and with Marcus Rashford’s natural position looking more like the left wing, Martial is slowly getting pushed out of the squad.

The Uruguayan is a great talent, his talents was on display at times last season, especially towards the end of the season. But, the big man can not stay healthy.

Cavani is a class athlete and wonderful player when fit and would work well with Ronaldo if they were up top together and it might not require a huge revamp of the system.

Greenwood and Martial pretty much did that at the weekend at times the formation going forward looked like a 4-2-2-2 with Pogba and Bruno playing attacking midfielders on the right and left. They looked to both get in the middle and make things happen.

Defensively that could be problematic. Both Cavani and Ronaldo are up in age and at the point in both of their careers that being asked to do too much defensively may harm their ability to be as effective offensively.

Someone like Greenwood can run for days and might pair better with either or. It looks like Cavani might be a super sub when Ronaldo comes.

Ronaldo was not enough for a strong Juve team to recapture Serie A last season after winning it for a decade. It was not all Ronaldo’s fault or even any of it and Ronaldo held Juve accountable for it, he expects to win.

Not only does United get a number 9 that they need they also get an extreme winner, someone for Greenwood to try and emulate, someone is going to hold the United looker room accountable.

Manchester United Squad Update: Williams Headlines Latest United Player To Go Out On Loan For 21-22

Manchester United have loaned out Brandon Williams to Norwich City for the season. A move that seemed imminent in the last week and likely will not be the last player to leave United before deadline day.

Brandon Williams will not have it easy at Norwich. The club has decent full back depth with: Max Aarons, Sam Byram and Dimitris Giannoulis. Williams might be fighting for time with Giannoulis, who recently signed permanently after impressing on loan in the Championship from PAOK.

Max Aarons at right back might shut down Williams being able to transition back to being on his more natural right foot. Aarons has been linked with Bayern Munich and other top clubs. Williams needed the move and could become the Canneries starting left back by the end of the season.

Other United players that have sealed moves

James Garner

The 20-year-old holding midfielder has re-joined Nottingham Forest on a season long loan the club announced on Sunday. Garner impressed last season at Forest and was happy to return to Forest.

“Last season, I had a good loan spell there so I canโ€™t wait to get back and play in such a tough league and showcase my ability to everyone and hopefully show everyone what I can do,” said Garner when speaking to MUTV.

Before heading out Garner extended his contract with United. He will be at the club until 2024.

Andreas Pereira

Despite his stunning goal in preseason, the central midfielder always looked likely to head out. United would have wanted to get money for the Brazilian right away, but settled for a loan with an option to buy.

Flamengo, a Brazilian club swooped in for Pereira, but who knows if they can come through with the โ‚ฌ20mil option to buy at the end of the season. We could be seeing Pereira hit some more bangers again next summer.

Outgrowing the academy

Di’Shon Bernard

The 20-year-old center back was on loan to Salford City all of last season and did not take part in preseason with Manchester United and was already loaned to Hull in July.

Bernard is relevant because he made his Championship debut for Hull against Fulham, one of the favorites to get promoted back to the Premier League.

Bernard faired well for Hull, he had the hard task of going against one of the stronger and best strikers in the league, Alexander Mitrovic. Young Bernard stood his ground on many occasions with the big man and deserved some respect for his showings against a tough opponent despite the loss.

Will Fish

Fish did take part in preseason for United and got some minutes in with the first team. Fish is another one of those players that outgrew U23s, but needs first team minutes at a higher level, just not the Premier League at the moment.

Fish headed out to Stockport County on loan in the fifth tier of English football. Maybe a team higher than the National League would have came calling, but Fish has already settled well with club and is already making an impact.

On his first appearance for the club he picked up man of the match and was in the starting eleven this weekend that lost to Dagenham & Redbridge.

Ethan Galbraith and Ethan Laird

Galbraith spent last season playing for the U23s and is already a Norther Ireland international. Galbraith made his debut for Norther Ireland back in 2019 and will join Doncaster Rovers for the season on loan.

Laird spent last half of the season on loan to MK Dons, the defender has already joined Swansea City. Swansea missed out on the Premier League in the playoff final losing to Brentford. Laird joins a really competitive side, it will be a good challenge for him.

Dylan Levitt

Levitt was at the Euros this summer with Wales and previously had a couple of loans that have not really worked out. Levitt featured alongside Garner in the middle for United in preseason and could still be in the future plans for United, but he needs for this loan at Dundee to workout.

Manchester United still have players like Jesse Lingard, Amad Diallo and Mengi that could move in the next week and maybe a player or two might come in.

Three (3) Possible Long Term Options For Man Utd At CDM This Window

Nemanja Matic was terrific for Man Utd this weekend against Everton, partnering well with Donny van de Beek as the number 6. Matic is not getting younger and is unlikely to play every game this season for Man Utd.

Scott McTominay and Fred were used almost exclusively last season as defensive midfielders in a 4-2-3-1 system. During that time creativity from the midfield duo was lacking, Fred and McTominay would opt for more linear passes.

McTominay would offer an outlet going forwards at times and to be fair both had some good line splitting passes at times, but against better opposition Man Utd were stale in the middle, Bruno would try and drop back and create from deeper positions negating his goal scoring prowess.

Having a ball winning number 6 paired with a number 8 like Pogba and DVB could allow Bruno to get forward more instead of having to drop back and help create.

With Man Utd already shelling out money for Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho, buying a defensive midfielder with a high price tag seems unlikely this window. United can stick it out with rotating Matic in more this season, maybe even give DVB an opportunity in that role.

Some of the players that Man Utd should be interested at defensive midfield in the future would include: Declan Rice, Kalvin Phillips, Wilfred Ndidi, Eduardo Camavinga, Ruben Neves and even Yves Bissouma, but the prices are high.

If one of those players were to come in, multiple players might have to be sold especially one of the midfielders on the squad, the only likely player that could possibly leave would be Scott McTominay.

European clubs have money problems that will keep Paul Pogba here for the season at least. DVB, Mata, Matic and Fred are all set to stay. Andreas Pereira could be loaned out, maybe a small fee for him, but not enough to put a dent in a big signing.

Scott McTominay if put on the market will get a lot of attention from Premier League sides and once Jesse Lingard sells United could be able to get close to finance something, but McTominay does not look like he is going anywhere.

Man Utd might have to focus on something less expensive this window, they have James Garner who is highly rated, but could he be trusted in such a key position? Maybe cup matches.

These three players are decently priced and have great experience in Europe and play key roles for the current clubs.

Tyler Adams – RB Leipzig

Tyler Adams has been with Leipzig since 2019 when he signed during the January transfer window. Adams was signed from New York Red Bulls, staying in the Red Bull system.

Adams started this weekend for Leipzig in a DFB Pokal Cup match and has appeared in over 51 matches for Leipzig since his arrival in 2019. The United States international can also play right wingback and has featured in that role for both club and country.

Adams scored a game winning goal in the Champions League Quarterfinals two season ago against Atletico Madrid sending Leipzig to their first ever Semifinal.

The 22-year-old is extremely athletic and attracted attention earlier in the window from Arsenal. Leipzig does not seem ready to give up their flexible American, new manager Jesse Marsch is also American and has brought in another highly rated American prospect from New York Red Bulls.

Adams is valued at โ‚ฌ22 million according to transfermarkt.

Orel Mangala – Stuttgart

Mangala would be the most expensive option for Man Utd, at over โ‚ฌ25 million, the Belgian midfielder has turned heads after a great performance for Stuttgart in their return to the Bundesliga.

Mangala recently had bids turned down by the German club with the club allegedly holding out for around โ‚ฌ30 million.

Mangala is a great passer and dribbles well and is similar in style to someone like Frank Zambo Anguissa from Fulham, who played well for the Cottagesrs despite getting relegated.

The price tag might be a bit much for Man Utd now, but if a couple of players go Man Utd would and should have enough to pull the trigger on someone like Mangala.

Edson Alvarez – Ajax

Another North American on the list and surprisingly the cheapest. Edson Alvarez has around 60 appearances for the Dutch club in all competitions and 43 appearances for Mexico.

The 23-year-old is also versatile like his regional rival Tyler Adams, Alvarez can play in the center of defense and has played right back at times for Mexico.

The Mexican international is lauded for his leadership skills in Mexico and paved a way for himself at young age in an experienced Mexican team that has had longtime options in central midfield with the likes of Andres Guardado and Hector Herrera.

According to transfermarkt, the Ajax stud is only listed โ‚ฌ15 million, a steal for a club looking to bolster their defensive midfield options while also padding the depth of other positions.

Plus, Javier Hernandez was a great signing from Mexico, maybe it is time for another Mexican at Old Trafford.

5 Man Utd Fringe Players That Could Be in Or Out

Man Utd’s 4-0 victory against Everton saw the return of many first team players and with the Premier League beginning this weekend the fate of fringe players will be determined in the next couple of weeks.

Axel Tuanzebe is one of those players, after signing an extension, Tuanzebe was loaned back out to Aston Villa where he helped get Villa promoted from the Championship in the 2018/2019 season.

Here is a list of five more players that could be out or stay this season at Man Utd.

Brandon Williams – LB/RB

GOING: There has been plenty of interest from bottom half Premier League sides for the 20-year-old fullback. Like his teammate Diogo Dalot, Williams can play both fullback positions.

Alex Telles has the backup left leftback position in his hands and despite a recent injury to the Brazilian, Williams could leave on loan.

A loan to a Premier League club would be good for Williams, his league appearances for Man Utd went from 17 in 2019/202 to just 4 this last season.

Being able to play both sides is a plus for Williams, just like Dalot, but the Portuguese fullback might be just a little better at the moment. A club like Southampton or Newcastle would be a good fit for Williams to gain more experience.

Diogo Dalot – LB/RB

STAY: The dual purpose full back had a successful loan last season at AC Milan and with most European clubs other than PSG facing financial difficulties it is starting to look unlikely that the Portuguese international will be sold.

A loan could still be likely but if it is not a team like AC Milan, where Dalot proved to be capable to play at that level, it might not be the best for him.

Maybe a team like Lyon, Dortmund, Leipzig or Sevilla could possibly try and get him closer to deadline day, but news has been quiet and he could be good competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

James Garner – CM/CDM

GOING: Man Utd currently have a problem in the midfield, it is kind of worrisome, Man Utd have a lot of solid midfielders but not too many defensive midfielders besides Nemanja Matic. Garner could be sort of an understudy to the Serb if he stays at United this season.

But, him getting minutes and experience might be more beneficial in the long term. Garner has done well this preseason and looks composed for his age.

His successful loan spell in the second half of the season at Forest puts him in contention to make the squad, maybe one more year in the Championship or a bottom half Premier League club would be better for the 20-year-old.

It has been reported that Forest want Garner to return on loan. Other clubs in the Championship will begin to swarm come deadline day.

Anthony Elanga – FWD

GOING: Man Utd currently have some question marks in the forward category at the beginning of the season. Marcus Rashford could be out until October, Anthony Martial has returned, Edinson Cavani updates after the Copa America has been slow and Amad Diallo was playing in the Olympics.

The door is slightly open for some fringe players to get some minutes early on in the season and Anthony Elanga could be one of those players, but he should really get solid minutes professionally.

The forward spent most of his time last season playing for the U-23s and came on later in the season for the first team. A goal versus Wolves will have you craving more, but once all the forwards get fit, it will be hard for Elanga to make the bench.

Elanga playing U23s would be a waste, he is already above that level, a move to the Championship will help him develop the strength that will be required for the Premier League.

Dan James – FWD/MID

STAYING: With the somewhat uncertainty at forward at the moment, some stability is good and that is what Dan James has to offer for Man Utd.

During his time at Old Trafford, Dan James has not put up amazing stats, but one thing he does great is work hard. Someone who is going to track back on defense and put in a solid shift is always needed.

His pace and work ethic might keep him in the squad this fall, but if James is needed for Man Utd to finance another move, he could be out.

Manchester United Transfer News Will Get Aggressive ONce Teams Begin To Get Knocked Out Of The 2020 Euros

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was recently spotted in Norway.

Manchester United will look to build off a second placed finish in the league this season and compete with Manchester City and other top clubs for the league next year, a healthy off season will be needed for that push.

The European Championships group stages are about to wrap up this week, players looking for new clubs who are eliminated will begin speaking to clubs, Turkish playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu signed for Inter Milan a day after Turkey was eliminated.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City has made an offer to Tottenham for Harry Kane. Once teams get knocked out and players get done with their vacation the market will start to heat up.

Manchester United have been in the news somewhat. Linked players playing in the Euros, potential loan deals and star players leaving has dotted the tepid transfer news lately.

Possible Manchester United Players in the Euros

Two of the biggest and most probable names that Manchester United have been linked with and are playing in the Euros are Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho.

Jadon Sancho has not played one minute for England, but that could change after the poor offensive performance against Scotland, Scotland got tuned up by Czech Republic in the first game. England was supposed to play them off the pitch in London, but got booed off instead.

England need a good offensive performance against a surprising Czech side. Sancho could be the guy, but it does hurt Sancho’s transfer value if he can not get in a side that is lacking for chances. If Sancho were to turn things around and produce his value might rise.

The deal is almost done, Romano reported that a couple of weeks ago, I would not be surprised if Manchester United are holding out until the Euros is finished and use Sancho’s performance as leverage in negotiations.

Raphael Varane is still under contract until 2022 and Real Madrid have already parted with club legend Sergio Ramos. Replacing two center-backs will be more daunting.

If Varane does not sign an extension, Real Madrid could look to move on from the Frenchman. Manchester United, PSG and other top clubs have been interested.

PSG is a real competitor for United, they have already signed Georginio Wijnaldum and have also been interested in United star Paul Pogba. PSG look willing to spend even more to bring home the Champions League after coming close in the last two years.

Varane and France look like they will go deep in the knockout rounds, so news with him could take awhile.

Manchester United Players Possibly on the Move

Axel Tuanzebe is reportedly going to seek out a possible loan move away from Old Trafford according to ESPN. Not shocking after United signed Eric Bailly during the season.

It would be good to see Tuanzebe during the pre-season to see how he would mesh with newer signings, but we know what we have with Tuanzebe, he is solid. Like Bailly, there might be a yearning for more, someone world class like Varane makes sense for a club like Manchester United.

A loan could do him well, I would not mind him going somewhere in Europe. Tomori’s loan to AC Milan from Chelsea worked well and something like that could be beneficial for both Manchester United and Axel Tuanzebe.

Paul Pogba will always be in the news, it is good for his brand and he is one of the best midfielders in the world. His talents have been on full display for France. He plays really well for the French.

Swap deals with him has a piece has been constant. It is speculated that clubs could use swaps more this summer because of monetary problems because of lockdowns. PSG, Juve and Real Madrid have been constantly linked to the playmaker not just this summer, but previous windows as well.

If PSG were to lock up Varane and Pogba this window they could be favorites to win the Champions League.

The window during a major tournament is always cool and the windows always heat up once they get closer to deadline day, nothing new.

Just a heads up to see where Manchester United currently stand in the window.

Eric Bailly Signs 4-year Contract Extension

Eric Bailly has signed a four-year contract extension with Manchester United, the club announced today.

The announcement comes at somewhat of a surprise. It was reported earlier this month that Eric Bailly was unhappy at the club and would not extend his contract forcing Man Utd to sell him in the summer.

The 27-year-old signed from Villarreal in 2016 for โ‚ฌ30 million and has had his ups and downs for the club since joining. Eric Bailly has been injured a lot in his Man Utd career so far. This season he has made just 15 appearances in all competitions.

Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof are the preferred partnership in defense this season at Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Man Utd could still add a big named defender in the summer.

Eric Bailly spoke with the club after his decision to extend his contract.

“I am very happy, this decision, you don’t have to think about signing, I love this club. I love playing for Manchester, my family is happy. I have had a moment in this past with injury, now I am fit and good. A new contract is like a new challenge, I am ready for this.”

With the news of this signing, Man Utd could focus more on one big signing at center back instead of having to bring in multiple center backs and orientating them with the club.

This leaves Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe on the possible chopping block, if United were to bring in another central defender one of these players will likely have to depart.

Eric Bailly has the talent to play at a high level for Man Utd, hopefully he is able to stay fit for the next couple of years at Old Trafford.

Paul Pogba Demands โ‚ฌ500k Weekly Wages; Proven Center-Backs On The Radar

It might cost Man Utd โ‚ฌ500k a week if they want to keep world cup winner Paul Pogba. The new demand wages would see him become the highest paid player in the Premier League when Gareth Bale goes back to Madrid.

The demands do not come as a surprise, Paul Pogba has been rumored to leave Man Utd for the past couple of windows and a new fat contract would probably get him to stay.

Paul Pogba has played well since returning from is injury. At times Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has deployed Pogba as the the extra midfielder instead of opting for a winger or striker in the 4-2-3-1.

Man Utd look good with Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood roaming up top with Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba behind them as the playmakers. Pogba can roam the whole pitch if he wants, he can come back deep and make plays or get into the box for crosses, he has so much rage as a midfielder.

He has played well with Bruno, a delight too many who wanted to see the pair utilized together, this allows Man Utd to be more offensively minded. Man Utd took awhile to crack Burnley but when they did at the end the counter attack opened up.

Paul Pogba has been rumored to be involved in a potential deal back to Juventus. A deal that would see Paulo Dybala come to Manchester United in return. There is no guarantee that Paulo Dybala would want to go to Old Trafford, plus United have Fernandes and Donny van de Beek in the same position, DVB has been playing decent recently.

Wesley Fofana and Raphael Varane are two of the latest central defenders to join a long list of already rumored defenders that Man Utd have their eyes on. French site Foot Mercato for Fofana and the Mirror for Varane.

Again with more center-back rumors and links. Manchester United will probably be linked with every center-back that might be available this summer, it is getting ridiculous. Eric Bailly is probably going to leave, Axel Tuanzebe is almost there and Phil Jones is gone.

Bringing in more than one central defender is likely, especially if United were to lose two, they could replace the holes with one big signing or two mid-priced signings. Bringing in someone like David Alaba on a free or bringing in someone from the youth system makes sense if you pair them with a big money signing.

The link for Fofana sounds nice but looks unlikely if Leicester City qualify for Champions League they would want to keep their young French defender.

Fofana was brought in from the French League for around โ‚ฌ37 million and if Leicester were to sell him it would be around โ‚ฌ80 million for United to get his signature. The 20-year-old has been playing regularly so the learning curve of joining a new league is not needed.

Raphael Varane has been linked before but has returned again in the news because advanced talks are underway and the move has the blessing of Zinedine Zidane.

The 27-year-old could still be in the prime of his career and could be a great starter for United, he would probably slot in alongside Harry Maguire as the starter.

It also rumored that Sergio Ramos could leave Real Madrid as well. If they lose both they have to sign a another defender or two. Varane could come, maybe Paul Pogba can give him a call.

Paul Pogba makes Man Utd a better team when he is on the field, hopefully he stays. Until Man Utd sign a center-back they will be continued to be linked with one, so get used to it.

Joachim Andersen Would Be A Brilliant and Cheap Bit of Business For Man Utd

According to BT in Denmark, Manchester United want to sign Fulham defender Joachim Andersen. The defender is currently on loan at Craven Cottage from Lyon.

If Fulham were to survive, which does not look likely, Joachim Andersen could stay in London, but Fulham are currently six points from safety with six games left for them. Plus, Newcastle also have a game at hand, things are looking bleak for the Cottagers.

Joachim Andersen will go back to Lyon regardless, but Fulham likely have an option to sign if they do survive. The fee for Andersen could be anywhere from โ‚ฌ20-โ‚ฌ30 million.

This a decent price in todays market for a center back that is impressing in the Premier League. You never know what you are going to get when you shop outside of the league. With Joachim Andersen you get someone who is young and succeeding in the Premier League.

Joachim Andersen at Fulham

Joachim Andersen has became the captain at Fulham while current club captain Tom Cairney is sidelined because of injuries. A loan player becoming captain of a Premier League club hardly happens. Andersen has a winning spirit as well.

“For me it is embarrassing if you do not stay up because I always want to win. And when I do not win I am really angry,” said Andersen in March.

The 24-year-old signed for Lyon in 2019 for โ‚ฌ30 million after impressing at Sampdoria. It was a surprise that Fulham were able to get him on loan. He was not in the plans for Lyon anymore, so even when he does go back after his loan, Lyon are likely to sell.

Andersen has been really impressive passing the ball this season for Fulham. He has this amazing diagonal pass in his repertoire. The pass led to an assist to Ademola Lookman against Sheffield United.

The passing, defense and leadership of Joachim Andersen has been on display at the Cottage and if Fulham were to get relegated it would be a great business if Manchester United were to buy the Dane.

Manchester United’s 2-0 Aggregate Lead Should See them Advance, Plus Other News

Manchester United cruised to a 2-0 victory over Europa League Cinderellas Granada last week in Spain and should comfortably advance tonight at Old Trafford.

Granada came from behind to beat Real Valladolid at the weekend, 2-1. The win ended a four game losing streak for Granada, they went to eighth in the league.

Manchester United also came from behind on the weekend beating Tottenham 3-1 after controversially going down. If Manchester United were to advance they would face the winner of Roma and Ajax.

In other games where United have a comfortable lead on aggregate they have been tight, smart and compact, opting to see out the tie instead of over committing and giving the opposition hope.

Team News

Manchester United have players coming back from injury, so they have options in their squad. But in the win the previous week, three players will miss because of yellow card accumulations, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay will all miss out.

Eric Bailly was reported to return but will not be available and Axel Tuanzebe could also see some minutes. Tuanzebe could also play in the midfield if needed. Paul Pogba is one yellow card away from a suspension and will miss the first leg of the Europa League if he is booked.

Other News

Manchester United are set to change banners at Old Trafford because they blend in with the players.

“Some of the players have mentioned that split second decision you have to make where you look over your shoulder to see if your teammate is there or not and the red shirt is on a red background with red seats,” said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Declan Rice spoke to Manchester United players while on international duty about what it is like to play at Manchester United.

It will be hard for West Ham to keep hold of their talented midfielder but if they qualify for Champions League surely Declan Rice will stay at West Ham.
